UTILIZATION OF DIGITAL CAMERA IN MAKING PHYSICS LABORATORY PRACTICE FOR THE FIRST GRADE OF HIGH SCHOOL

Introduction
Digital camera is a tool used by almost every young individual, because of this it is necessary to test its applicability in physics. In this paper, the camera is used as a device which measures a specific time interval.
Aim of this paper is to introduce new methods in laboratory practice to students and teachers. Experimenting is one of the best methods for understanding a particular physical phenomenon. In order to explain to students more effectively their task, it is necessary to use something from their everyday life, which in this case is a digital camera.

Materials and methods
A standard video recording shares one second into 25 frames, so it is possible to determine a specific time interval of a phenomenon by a video from a digital camera. Video is processed by a computer program that can separate the clip to frames and for each frame determines the correct time. For the purposes of this paper a free program VirtualDub has been used.

Results
The paper presents examples and guidelines for performing laboratory practice listed below:
Determining: acceleration and velocity of objects down an inclined plane, the acceleration due to gravity, speed in free fall, height, maximum height and initial velocity vertical shots, horizontal shots height for maximum height and range in oblique shots, frequency, angular velocity, centripetal acceleration at circular motion, converting the potential energy to kinetic energy and other .

Conclusion
This method of measuring time intervals using a digital camera and processing video recording on a a computer can be used for most mechanics exercises as well as other phenomena where it is necessary to measure the time interval. Measurements derived by this method are probably the best compromise between quality of teaching and price of equipment.
