A biosensor is an analytical device which converts a biological into a quantifiable and processable signals. The paper covers the general partition of biosensors, with their basic structure presentation. Specific attention is given to glucose biosensors. Glucose measurements historical view is presented. The overview of recent developments in glucose biosensors is provided. A special attention is paid on nanoprticles and nanowire array transducer technologies.
