This is a short abstract: Agentic AI represents a transformative shift from isolated AI agents to societies of interacting agents that pursue complex goals with limited supervision. This talk unifies multidisciplinary theories of agency with modern AI systems to clarify what is novel about Agentic AI. I trace the evolution of AI agents, spanning traditional, large language model (LLM)-based, human digital twin (HDT)-based, embodied, and artificial general intelligence (AGI)-oriented agents. An Agentic AI system is defined as a collective that integrates perception, reasoning, planning, memory, action, and learning, exceeds the capabilities of its components and collaborates with other systems. I outline the near-term evolution toward richer cyberspace ecosystems, including emerging agentic HDT-based and agentic AGI-oriented systems, and highlight open problems and challenges in AI ethics.
