There is no information about road traffic safety in Montenegro in relevant regional, European or World statistical data (ITF, EU-CARE, UNECE Statistics). Therefore this paper presents some basic statistical indicators that implicate very low levels of road safety performance in Montenegro. Regarding that, possibility of influence of the vehicle technical failures on overall traffic safety has been specially considered.
