Although in some highly developed countries, for economic reasons that will not be discussed now, dentistry is already advertised to use in work among the fastest and shortest pulses with many advantages. These are femptosecond lasers that also have their own history, and it is known that models change according to the parameters of power, energy and their respective densities, and that they must be discussed and essential and not considered only as a parameter.
Nevertheless, it is interesting, although it is not the subject of our research, that the search for the first lasers in the femptosecond domain leads to various data. It is only important that playing at the world level is again connected with Nobel Prizes for various geographical locations. On the other hand, since the first pulsed lasers in the "spikes" mode, many more types of lasers have appeared in government institutions, clinics and private laboratories. (The literature is full of advertisements and special handling equipment...).
In all three areas: - interaction with hard tissue, - liquid tissue, - saliva or prosthetic material of various natures, from waxes to porcelain and implants, it uses all the advantages of coherent processes from material processing, of which the first mentioned group of ultrafast lasers is the most comfortable for patients according to the literature in terms of duration and the feeling of "permanence".
In the paper, attention will be paid to some typical models with a focus on practicality, and on the other hand to selected older and newer, more exotic applications of lasers related to dentistry. Attention will also be paid to the choice of color determination from a metrological point of view in relation to more standard dental offers/methods. And here we mean the bases of the linear and non-linear discipline of optics. Especially in dentistry, there are clear views on the trend of decreasing prices within 5-10 years for both generators and auxiliary instruments, as well as for the inclusion of more sophisticated techniques in work and recording, setting up diagnostics.
The issues of inclusion of pressure assessment, semimetric methods, durability assessment, crack formation... and the organization of experiments with the inclusion of polarization states of quantum generators, move from individual works to traditional tests, given that the technical faculties have mastered the basic theory and the transition to independently chosen problems.
