The application of modern IT systems is one of the crucial parts for improving effectiveness and efficiency of logistic processes. IT give competitive advantages to all subjects in logistic. The logistic is closely related to geographic information. Integration of geographic information system (GIS) and logistic systems enables availability of data in order to make strategic decisions related to locating factories, individual warehouses and distribution centers as well as to tactical decisions related to logistic operators discussing vehicle route definition. Application of IT, connecting visualization and spatial analysis, can improve business activities for end users as well as for providers of logistical support. This paper will present the role and different possibilities of GIS application in logistic.
