Among synthetic dyes, azo dyes have a special place thanks to their wide range of applications. In science today, they are the subject of numerous researches dealing with the relationship between the structure of molecule, its physicochemical properties and behavior that it could manifest in some biological medium. One of the most significant molecular descriptor that indicates the potential biological activity of the compound is lipophilicity. For serie of aryl-azo pyrimidine dyes lipophilicity is determined experimentally by thin layer chromatography on reversed phase (RP TLC18 F254s), in a mixtures of water and one protic as well as one aprotic organic modifiers (RM0) and by calculation using the software package (log P). Also, their important pharmacokinetic predictors are determined. Experimentally obtained lipophilicity (RM0) is correlated with a standard measure of lipophilicity (log P), and with the selected pharmacokinetic predictors.
