The significant advancements of information technology have contributed to increased development of traffic simulation models. These include microscopic models and broadening the areas of applications ranging from the modeling of specific components of the transportation system to a whole network having different kinds of intersections and links. This paper compares the results of an application of two selected software's (SFStreetSIModel, version 1.1, and Synchro,7) to the microscopic simulation of traffic flow for a fragment of a real urban road network. First, the problem of transport system modeling in term of traffic flow modeling and simulation has been described, and the microscopic simulation software's introduced. Afterwards, model construction and simulation would be presented. The authors discussed a comparative result analysis for the systems, with a reference to the real traffic. The paper ends with a summary of the conducted research.
