The goal of this study is to explore and to point out the significance of acceptance of innovations by consumers as a potential generator of development of entrepreneurial venture. More precisely, the work examines new product development, new way of promoting of new service or product, new unattained market niches as a potential for development of entrepreneurial venture. For the purpose of this research, a database of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor was used. The data refers to research conducted in the Republic of Serbia for year 2009. Collected data were processed using the software package for statistical analysis –SPSS 20. For the purpose of determining the intensity and nature of the connection between the observed phenomenons, statistical analysis Chi-square test was used. A modest contribution to scientific and management practice research paper founds in the fact that there has not been any research in this area in the territory of the Republic of Serbia. Limitation of this study can be found in a limited geographical area. Namely, from the perspective of the territory covered by this survey, this paper provides a basis for future research in the form of comparative analysis between regions and/or countries.
