CIRCUMSCRIBED CHOROIDAL HEMANGIOMA ( Case report) Introduction: The hemangioma is the most frequent type of vascular anomaly,also the most common benign tumor of childhood. Material and method: We present the case of a premature newborn,CM, aged 11weeks.The child was borne by cesarean, the general assesment was good.For retinal examination it was used indirect ophthalmoscopy, Clinical examination was supplemented by laboratory tests, hearing probe, newurological exam end imagistic evaluation(ocular ultrasonography,transfontanelar echography and magnetic resonance) Purpose: The aim of the paper is to report a case of a benign vascular tumor of the choroid, in a premature newborn, which associates also a cutaneous hemangioma on the face. Results and discussions: Early and late evaluation:infant with RCIU,SDS mild/medium,oxygen-therapy,jaundice in premature, premature anemia, undercurrent infection with Gram(-). Objectives:Highlight the possible ocular location of a lesion which is frequently present in newborns(hemangioma),Exclusion of systemic disease/associated ocular modifications,Emphasize the role of interdisciplinary evaluation since birth(neonatologist-ophthalmologist team) Possible complications:progressive degeneration of the RPE,progressive degeneration of the sensory retina, decrease of visual acuity, exudative retinal detachment,subretinal fibrosis,iris neovascularisation and neovascular glaucoma. Treatment:Aim to limit the decrease of visual acuity or to improve function related to complications(laser photocoagulation,transpupilary thermotherapy,photodynamic therapy,ocular irradiation,enucleation for painful blind eye.Long distance efficiency of these methods is not fully known.
