Motor vehicles are a major generator of air pollution in major cities. The most burdened urban corridors are endangered particulary, where is high the frequency of buses and other vehicles. The Bus subsystem is held service of public transport in Belgrade. Exceptionally high representation of bus subsystems give entitles that the bus subsystem in Belgrade considered the most important service mobility of citizens, but on the other hand simultaneously initiates the growing environmental problems.
In this sense, from the standpoint of reducing emissions of harmful exhaust emissions and noise, the use of alternative fuels and the introduction of environmentally \'\'clean\'\' vehicles has been gaining increasing importance. This paper presents practical results and experience in the use of alternative fuels (biodiesel, CNG, LPG) as well as new types of buses in GSP \'\'Beogard\'\', as well as the development of policy guidelines, which creates conditions for greater use of environmentally \'\'cleaner\'\' vehicles as an important element of sustainable development.
