Application of intelligent systems in production is inevitable in order to ensure competitiveness in the global market and achieve a high level of flexibility of production systems for constant adaptation to change. As one of the most frequently applied forms of intelligent systems are agent-based systems whose application provide significant savings in material and time through optimization activities in a production system. As a precondition for the successful application of these systems is considered to be well conducted phase recording and analysis of baseline and defining the possibilities for the application of intelligent systems. The tendency of the author of this article is to show the importance of the application of agent-based systems and their applicability in the industry.
