This paper presents the methods of students education at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Banja Luka in the fields of mechatronics and automation of manufacturing processes. Didactic approach that has been made is a combination of conventional teaching with an innovative system dominated by the practical work of students. Final goal is to enable students to acquire new knowledge, develop creativity, practical skills and prepare for future professional challenges in a creative and innovative way.
Since the implementation of the new approach we are already implemented two projects with two generations of students. Both projects are described in this paper.
