ABSTRACT: For shooting weapons classical theory of internal ballistics is a very rough approximation. Calculation for these arms is usually performed in such a way that certain parameters whose values cannot be determined precisely (eg equations for burning rate and pressure forcing) are varied until there is a match of certain characteristics of the test results (usually the maximum pressure of propellant gas and the projectile initial velocity). The assumption is that interior profile of the barrel of the small calibers can be defined on the basis of theoretical and practical tests primarily (experiment) for a family of weapons, i.e. all weapons of small caliber (including 12.7 mm) for sports and military use, except for snipers and weapons for special purposes. The basis was 5.56mm caliber, analysed by two variants of existing UB two-phase flow model. The aim is to determine the feasibility of standardization of one or the other barrel profile (12"and 7"), based on the advantages of one over the other profile, verification of the modified UB model and the confirmation of such a hypotheses.
