Baobab is an emblematic, culturally important and physically majestic a sub-tropical tree. The different parts of plant provide food, shelter, clothing and medicine as well as material for hunting and fishing. In this study presence of 28 elements in peel of Adansonia digitata was investigated. The quantitative analysis was performed on ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma - Optical Emission Spectrometry, ARCOS FHE12, SPECTRO, Germany), according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Baobab peel was divided in three regions (internal, middle and external) and by wet digestion was prepared. Based on the obtained results, from the investigated macro elements, calcium had the highest content of 1.62 − 15.42 μg/g. On the other side, from investigated microelements group, the high amounts of zinc (5.27 – 5.55 μg/g) and iron (2.55 – 2.48 μg/g) were detected. The presence of toxic elements were also investigated and the highest content (5.24 μg/g) for lead was recorded. Cadmium was also detected in all samples (0.020 – 0.19 μg/g), while the presence of arsenic in investigated samples was not detected.
