Abstract: The treatment of rheumatic diseases is complex and in addition to pharmacological, it includes a multidisciplinary approach in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Joint manifestations in the form of contractures, deformities, ankylosis, as well as muscle weakness require a methodologically broad assessment framework and the use of various specific tests and elements of basic kinesiological assessment. Aim of this research is to present the use of methodology in occupational therapy assessment in clinical conditions through monitoring changes in patient’s occupational performances. Material and methods: A sample formed of 12 patients involved in occupational therapy as part of treatment in various rehabilitation institutions in Belgrade with diagnosed degenerative and inflammatory rheumatic diseases was assessed at the beginning and end of treatment. Results and discussion of results: Different levels of progress were recorded in occupational therapy evaluation after completion of treatment in all patients. Conclusion: Detailed occupational therapy evaluation of functionality in self-care and daily life activities helps determine priority goals in training patients with various rheumatic diseases.
