Activities of the Faculty

The activities of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Maribor focus on higher education and research in the field of civil engineering, traffic engineering as well as architecture. The Faculty carries out university study programmes such as Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering and Architecture, whereas the interdisciplinary programme Industrial Engineering within Civil Engineering is carried out together with the Faculty of Economics and Business. The programmes Civil Engineering and Traffic Engineering provide the opportunity to obtain higher professional education.

Additionally, we execute international, national and regional scientific and development research programmes and draw up elaborates as well as issue expert and professional opinions for institutions, companies and other clients all within the framework of our research programmes.

The Faculty's efforts for constant improvements are steeped in principles of consistency, integrity, open-mindedness and international compatibility.

Mission of the Faculty

The Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Maribor strives to create, develop and expand engineering know-how in the field of civil engineering, architecture and traffic engineering and transfer it in the best way possible to our students and to the profession, thus enriching the lives and creative work of our graduates and of the economy.

Moreover, the Faculty of Civil Engineering pursues the goal to carry out its scientific and research activity in a manner that would contribute to the global treasury of knowledge at an international scale and that would be reflected in innovative design and learning which are fundaments for the progress of society in the field of our activity.

Vision of the Faculty

The Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Maribor shall be recognizable both nationally and internationally by its activities in the field of civil engineering, architecture and traffic engineering, while other specific fields shall be comparable with world's best faculties. Educational and research programmes shall be developed and executed in accordance with the highest engineering standards and human values and in close cooperation with the profession and related institutions. By fostering a responsible mentor-student relationship and collegial relations between the staff, the faculty shall create conditions for activating and stimulating motivation, potential, knowledge, understanding, creativity and competences of students, teachers and researchers alike to the fullest extent possible.
