In this paper, the possibility of the partial replacement of CaF2 in synthetic steelmaking slags, primarily due to its adverse impact on the environment is analyzed. A triple mixture of CaO- CaF2- white bauxite was used as a new type of slag for ladle metallurgy processing of steel. The correlation between the technological parameters and the mass emission of fluorides is investigated. The optimal ratio of the components of the ternary mixture in terms of conflicting requirements for a concomitant increase in sulphide capacity and a reduction of fluoride emissions is defined. Using the RMJ model for the calculation of sulphide capacity, it has been shown that a white bauxite content up to 20% in the mixture, AlF3 and SiF4 emissions are reduced, while maintaining the satisfactory desulphurization capacity of the slag. The replacement of CaF2 by white bauxite results in a certain influence on the reduction of the sulphide capacity (Cs) and the ratio of desulphurization (Ls)
