ABSTRACT
Paleopalynological information featured in this study, issued in depositions of last XX centuries in Elbasan city. Many biological studies have been performed in this town during the last 25 years.
Our study shows some paleopalynological data about the dispersion of Arbutus and Erica type’s representatives of Ericaceae family during New Holocene period, giving us the ability to perform a genuine comparison between the two genres.
The goal of this presented paper is to give the correlation between the dispersion and depth of two types on different periods of time. For this aim we took 16 sediment samples in fifth station, every 25 cm from the surface up to 4 m depth, through a dry drilling sonde.
Palynological data for these types were given for the first time in the Palynological literature in our land. The age is defined based on the age of archeological objects nearby. Observations, counting and photos of palynomorphs it was carried on using light microscopes, magnification up to 1000x.
Relying to the analyses of these samples, the data pose a very enthralling links between the deepness and number of spores and pollens for these two types.
