This paper presents a design and simulation of two techniques of controlling the DC-DC Buck converter , the analogue technique based on Proportional Integral Derivative (PID)based sliding mode voltage controller (SMVC) and digital technique using Quasi-sliding method based on minimum variation method ,operating in continuous conduction mode. A comparison between (PID) controller and Quasi-sliding mode based on minimum variation is made ,the simulation results show that the converter using digital controller provides good voltage regulation , have small output voltage ripple, and exhibiting robustness to parameter and load variations ,the control procedure is build depending on measuring only the sensed output voltage and compare it with the reference voltage so as to reach zero error signal , while the acceptable performance in PID controller is reached by tuning the controller i.e adjusting the controller constants Kp ,KI , KD .
