Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Maribor is in a certain development phase and at such a scientific and competence level that needs evaluation and certification on university level. Therefore, beside CRE evaluation, Faculty will apply for certification according to ISO 9001 eg EN 4500, so that an optimal function of organization will be subordinated to active scientific and competence disciplines. This will enhance motivation of employees and students achieving goals in the field of science, competence and education.

Adaptation of scientifically- research activities to scientific disciplines represented at the Faculty through the programme, staff, equipment, space and references, is a long term goal, which will be formed by the development of strong research groups in form of institutes. This will be a foundation for future significant increase of the basic research scope.
