Measurements of electrical signals on the human body find significant application in modern medical diagnostics. The distribution of electric potentials in the human body is a sufficient reason for the existence of current flows, different types of external stimuli can change these flows and generate new ones. The variety of biochemical and associated mechanical processes occurring in the body suggests a complex time-space pattern exhibited by the associated electrical currents. The aim of this presentation is to present the characteristics of AC currents that can be detected by electrodes placed on different parts of the body. AC current flows are characterized using the Fourier transform with and without external electrical excitation.
