The problem of force transfer and driving by friction (driving pulley – supporting rope) and dynamic behavior of certain elements of elevator device in exploitation is the subject of research in many studies and is still not satisfactorily solved as a whole. Basic characteristic of the driving pulley power transmission is load transfer due to friction, between steel wire rope and driving pulley. This paper deals with the influence of the equivalent friction coefficient. Also, the paper shows the process of forming adequate dynamic models for elevators grouped according to their features. Dynamic behavior of the rope during the power transmission by the driving pulley is most commonly described through forming various mechanical models. This study describes mechanical elevator models which run on electricity as a base for dynamic analysis and projecting. Appropriate mechanical models are formed depending on the requests of the analysis.
