INFLUENCE OF NANOPARTICLES MAGNETIC PROPERTIES AND MORPHOLOGY ON ITS APPLICATIONS

Magnetic nanoparticles are using to make magnetic mediums for data record and storage. For optimal magnetic mediums properties, nanoparticles must have high intensity of coercitive field and remanent magnetization and to be single domain and corrosion and friction resistant. In this investigation, nanoparticle sample of hematite (α-Fe2O3) was obtained by hydrothermal synthesis. Morphology and size of nanoparticles are determined using high resolution electron transmission microscope (HRTEM), where can be seen that the sample consist of plate nanoparticles with ~ 500 nm width and ~ 100 nm thickness. The coercitive field intensity for this sample on room temperature is 1140 Oe, and it is higher than with other hematite nanosystems on room temperature. Plates morphology can improve magnetic properties of nanomaterials.
