The increase in traffic and the complexity of the traffic situation has caused increasing threat of all categories of road users, especially pedestrians as the most vulnerable category of road users. A pedestrian is a person who participates in traffic, but not driving the vehicle, and is not carried in the vehicle or on the vehicle, the person's own power pushing or towing vehicle, handcart, children's means of transport, bicycle, moped or mobile carts for frail people, face to mobile chair for helpless persons driven by its own power or engine power, if at the same time moves at the speed of the human foot, as a person that skates, skis, sleds or ride on roller skates.
Children belong to the most vulnerable group of traffic participants. Children are most often hurt as pedestrians, bike riders or passengers in the vehicle. In a situation where the traffic is badly regulated, when there are difficult conditions with irregular effect of all elements of the system driver - vehicle - road - environment and when there is high undisciplined behavior and denial of the application of the rules and regulations there is a high threat to all traffic participants. Children as a special category of road users are often actors in traffic accidents and are mostly the one who causes the accidents. Accidents with participation of children are serious and have the tragic consequences which are caused by low resistance of the body of a child to receive and resist the effects of large external forces that occur in accidents.
The aim of this research is the need to get a better knowledge in which forms, and with how much safety the children involved in traffic with special emphasis on those most vulnerable group of child pedestrians. This research should also include data on children acquired knowledge about the behavior and participation in traffic on the territory of the municipality of Stanari.
